Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin will remain active for Haas in 2022. Günther Steiner can't confirm yet but says that the announcement can be expected before the Russian Grand Prix.

Schumacher stays

Schumacher and Mazepin both make their Formula 1 debuts this season, and that was a remarkable choice by the American team. Two rookies in one team is not really common. Mazepin and Schumacher didn't seem to get along very well either. They have had several incidents this season, including a collision in the last race that ended in Schumacher spinning.
Nevertheless, Haas has no doubts about a longer stay of the two drivers. The team has been focused on the 2022 Formula 1 season since the start of this year and therefore does not blame the drivers much during this season. It should be a learning year before the new car will have to deliver results in 2022.

''Mick will be confirmed soon. Let's wait a few more days. Hopefully, it will all work out then. Then everyone will be happy and I don't have to answer these questions anymore,'' Steiner says with a wink at the German RTL.
Steiner indicates that Mazepin and Schumacher will be announced at the same time. ''Sochi is a good moment. From Sochi we can fully concentrate on next season,'' concludes the team boss of the American team.
