Boss Guenther Steiner claims Grosjean has found his confidence ahead of his home Grand Prix this weekend. The Frenchman faced plenty of stick after two strange crashes in back-to-back races.
The 32-year-old is yet to score a point this season, but his Haas boss insists he’s ready to compete in France this weekend.
“His competitiveness in Canada was good,” Steiner told reporters in France. “I think he got his confidence back after what happened in Barcelona and Baku.
“I think he’s in good spirits after Canada. He’s very positive about the upgrade we brought to Canada, which we have here. He was very happy with the car, very comfortable with it, just the result wasn’t there.”
Grosjean started the Montreal race from the back and at one point clawed is way into 7th. He did drop down to 12th after pitstops, but it was still an impressive drive. In the week, Steiner insisted other teams felt sympathetic towards Haas for their bad luck. And if this is removed, he feels his US team can catch up quickly.

“We just need to get a race weekend with both cars in the points, and we can make up points pretty quick if everything goes right. But nothing seems to be going right at the moment,” added Steiner.
