Romain Grosjean might be known for his recklessness, but the Frenchman could do nothing about his retirement from qualifying in Canada, which prompted him to say that he's been very unlucky.
As Grosjean left the garage in Q1 to put in a lap time, his turbo started heavily smoking while still in the pit lane. His qualifying had lasted about ten seconds, and a retirement that's completely out of your hands is very frustrating, of course.
"I like to believe that I'm getting all the bad luck for the next year and the coming years," he told Sky Sports F1.
"It's just an unfortunate period and a poor string of results, but we try to keep our heads high and deal with it as well as we can.
"We can laugh about it because that's the only thing that currently helps."
Grosjean has been on a very cold streak in terms of results, but the frustrating thing was that he had a competitive car in Canada. The chance to finish in points has quite literally gone up in smoke now.
"With the upgrades, the car feels very good so we could've had a nice result here," Grosjean said.
