The Imola circuit returned to the racing calendar in 2020 after 14 years. This season the drivers were able to drive around the circuit as well and the organisation hopes to continue this in the coming years.
The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari was not on the racing calendar for a long time but returned to it due to the corona virus. The Emilia-Romagna region liked the race very much and hopes to keep the GP on the Formula 1 calendar in the near future.

Imola wants a permanent place on the calendar

Stefano Bonaccini is very confident in the work the organisation is doing behind the scenes. "As a region, we have been successful for some time when it comes to bringing in sporting events of the highest calibre," the president told Motorsport.com. "And I hope that soon we will have a regular round in the Formula 1 World Championship at the Imola circuit."
"We have submitted a proposal to the government following the race in 2020 and 2021. The idea is to have a permanent place on the calendar from 2022, for many years to come. I hope to receive a positive response to this soon. It would be a historic and fantastic achievement and it would be great for all the fans and residents of Imola and Emilia-Romagna."
