Gerhard Berger: Sebastian Vettel put himself in the wrong position

Gerhard Berger insists Sebastian Vettel was wrong to ask Ferrari to let him through. During the Chinese Grand Prix, Ferrari ordered Charles Leclerc to let his teammate through after the German asked, but Vettel failed to use the advantage.
Since then, controversy has sparked, but the former Ferrari driver believes Vettel is making it hard for himself.
“In the last race, he brought himself a little bit into this situation because it was up to him to ask. If you’re not sure you can pull away, in this situation it was maybe not the best thing to do. Because soon you’re going to have two camps," Berger told motorsport.com.
“No question, Sebastian has a difficult role at the moment, having the young boy at the neck, having to deliver a championship for Ferrari, and to win the championship means beating Lewis [Hamilton]. That’s maybe the biggest headache!”
Vettel, a four-time world champion, has been favoured in every race so far this season, but Leclerc has remained level headed. The 21-year-old is in a similar position to Lewis Hamilton when he first made arrived at McLaren alongside Fernando Alonso.
