Angry Russell fumes at Piastri during Qatar sprint

Oscar Piastri overtook George Russell at the start of the sprint race in Qatar. The Australian allowed McLaren to take control, but Russell started to close in. The Brit tried to attack, but couldn't make it through. Russell replied with an angry radio message.

Oscar Piastri attacked in the first sequence of corners and successfully overtook Russell. Norris created a gap of one second after just one lap. Perez dropped three places on the opening lap. Liam Lawson dropped seven places, and Sergio Perez was overtaken by Franco Colapinto.

Russell moved closer to Piastri but unsuccessfully attacked the Australian. The Brit wasn't happy with Piastri's actions. Russell felt that Piastri turned in on him. "He f***ing turned into me," Russell said over the radio. Russell dropped backwards slightly, but Norris slowed down, gifting Piastri DRS.
