Gasly ready for second chance at Red Bull: 'Discuss it with Marko'

Pierre Gasly is still chasing a second chance alongside Max Verstappen. The AlphaTauri driver hopes to prove himself in 2022 to the point that Red Bull Racing wants him back.

For now, the Austrian racing team is offering Sergio Perez that chance. However, he too will have to show up well, as a new contract extension is anything but a given. Both Perez's and Gasly's contracts expire at the end of 2022.

For Gasly, the goal for 2023 is completely clear: he wants to return to Red Bull Racing. The Frenchman has blossomed at AlphaTauri in recent years and thinks he is ready to make the switch, he tells Motorsport.com.

Should that switch not be in the cards, it is possible that he will leave the Red Bull family. After all, the goal is to have a car with which he can win races. Whether that will be with Red Bull Racing is not yet clear, but Gasly says he will discuss that with Helmut Marko. In any case he is 'very confident' of another successful season.
