Qualifying for the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas has just finished. Here are the full results. Max Verstappen has taken pole position for the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. He set a superb benchmark which couldn't be beaten.
McLaren's
Lando Norris will start in second place on the grid with
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in third. George Russell qualified in fourth place, ahead of Lewis Hamilton and
Oscar Piastri.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli will start in seventh place for Mercedes, in front of Oliver Bearman. Williams' Carlos Sainz managed ninth and shares the fifth row with his compatriot Fernando Alonso
The Q3 top 10 shootout was a dramatic session. Verstappen took provisional pole with five minutes to go. The Red Bull driver set a 1:32.5 to take his second pole position of the weekend.
By contrast, Ferrari struggled, particularly in the opening stages as Leclerc spun and Hamilton had a lock-up.
The second part of qualifying saw both Alpines fail to make the top 10. Pierre Gasly outqualified his teammate, Franco Colapinto.
Yuki Tsunoda also didn't make the cut for Red Bull, is a lacklustre performance from the Japanese driver.
Alex Albon initially qualified for the second part of qualifying but had his lap time deleted, the Williams driver will start in 19th place.
Isack Hadjar endured a difficult qualifying session for Racing Bulls as he hit the wall at Turn 6 in Q1. The Frenchman will start 20th for Sunday's Grand Prix.
