Full results FP3: Norris surprises with fastest time, Verstappen P7

An atypical result from third free practice of the third Grand Prix of the year. In Australia, Lando Norris had the fastest time behind his name when the flag fell. Fernando Alonso surprised with a fourth place, while Max Verstappen disappointed at P7.

The session came to an early end with just four minutes to go due to a crash by Lance Stroll that caused a red flag. At that point, Norris was on top with the fastest time. Whether anyone could have bettered the 1:19:117 is not clear. What we do know is that Verstappen couldn't meet the time. The Dutchman had a very messy practice session and only picked up the seventh time.

His teammate Sergio Perez was good for the third time and was narrowly faster than two-time world champion Fernando Alonso who seems very strong in his Alpine. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz drove a solid practice session, but recorded second and fifth times respectively,
