Full results FP1: Ferrari dominant with big gaps between times

The first session of the Emilia Romagna GP is over and Ferrari impressed in front of the home crowd. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz appeared not to be overtaken. Not even by Max Verstappen.

It was an eventful free practice as the rain was not completely over at the start. The track was still very wet and it started on the full wet tire for the drivers. The times were twenty seconds slower than we would expect in dry conditions. Although the racing line dried up and the times went down, the teams still lagged behind Ferrari. The gaps were particularly large. Max Verstappen on P3 is missing a whopping 1.5 seconds on his rivals. Lewis Hamilton even faces a seven-second gap to Leclerc.
