FIA implements major change for Dutch Grand Prix

An adjustment has been made to the speed limit in the pit lane during the Dutch Grand Prix. Previously, this was 60 kilometers per hour, but it has now been raised to 80 kilometers per hour. In the Pirelli preview it became clear that they attempted to make a two-stopper of the upcoming race on Sunday.

“A further step in this direction stems from the FIA’s decision to increase the pit lane speed limit from 60 to 80 km/h, thus reducing the time taken for a pit stop. According to simulations provided by the teams, the one-stop is still quickest, partly because overtaking is notoriously difficult at Zandvoort, with very few straights apart from the main one, combined with the fact the whole track is quite narrow." Pirelli wrote in preparation for the race on Dutch soil.

The tire supplier has also announced which tires can be used during the race weekend in the Netherlands. This is important, because the banked turns at Zandvoort can demand a lot from the tyres.
