Mattia Binotto is working hard behind the scenes with Ferrari on the car for next season. With Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, the team boss did not manage to fight for the world title all year with Max Verstappen this year but wants to have another go in 2023. The engine plays an important role in this.
Indeed, the team boss saw both drivers drop out several times this season with engine problems, losing expensive points for the world championship. If they wants to have a better chance of winning the championship next year, Binotto knows that the car must exude more reliability.
With multiple updates, Ferrari are already trying to make improvements this year. Speaking to Formu1a.uno, Binotto stresses that these are not going to make any big differences yet. "They are not definitive solutions with a view to 2023," the Italian said.

However, he admits that Ferrari have an important task ahead. "Reliability is a challenge we absolutely have to face," he said. Ferrari could still lose second place in the constructors' championship this month, in the meantime, they seem to have all eyes on the start of next season.
