Oliver Bearman has received strong backing from former Scuderia Ferrari engineer Jock Clear as Formula 1 prepares for its new era of regulations. “Bearman, I think, will do well next year.”
- Jock ClearThe former
Ferrari engineer, who recently reflected on the progress of the
Haas F1 driver, was full of praise for Bearman. Clear also expressed his belief that the new regulations will suit the 20-year-old.
“I think that with the new regulations, the good drivers will continue to be good. But Ollie Bearman, I think, will do well next year,” Clear said via a gambling platform.

Further adding credence to his claim that the new regulations will suit Bearman, the 62-year-old continued:
“There are many drivers on the grid that I do not know particularly well. I know Oscar Piastri a little; I do not know Lando Norris at all, and I was really impressed by Isack Hadjar because, honestly, I did not expect him to do so well. But overall, I think the new rules will work in Bearman’s favour by highlighting his strengths.”
Clear’s comments align with those made by
Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, who recently suggested that the 2026 regulation overhaul would naturally favour younger drivers, citing Max Verstappen and George Russell as examples of those who could thrive under the new framework.
Clear convinced Bearman has title-winning potential
The 62-year-old, drawing a subtle comparison with Charles Leclerc, stressed that the young British driver, like the Monegasque, is among those he believes could one day claim the world title.
