'Ferrari should follow Lewis Hamilton's lead more amid current dip in form'

Rumours from Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera claimed that the seven-time world champion had asked for several key figures at Ferrari to be replaced.

Hamilton has since taken to social media to explain that the claims were not true. He wrote: "I've seen some stories that have gone out and I want to clear it up here. I've never asked for anyone on my team to be replaced. Everyone I work with works hard every day, and their dedication is what moves us forward.

"I always try to empower and lift people to be the best versions of themselves or at least see that best in themselves. I may not always achieve that but it's my intention and what I'm here to do. We all work together and that will continue," he concluded.

On thing the Briton did ask for was a set of rules of engagement after his Monza incident, which he was yet to receive as of the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid.

He then commented to GPblog, among others: "I'm sure at some stage, we'll discuss how we can be better, but we've not had a lot of time since turnaround. We can't change things in two days."

In GPblog's poll, 65% of readers supported Ferrari listening more to its experienced drivers. The remaining 35% were against the Scuderia following the Briton's lead more closely.

The Scuderia has experienced a rough patch in recent weekends, failing to finish on the podium in Zandvoort or Monza. Hamilton also suffered a DNF due to a brake issue on Sunday in Madrid. As a result, Hamilton is now 101 points behind Kimi Antonelli in the drivers' standings.
