Sources are close to reporting that Mick Schumacher has joined the Ferrari driver academy.
Schumacher Jr is competing in Formula 2 for Prema in 2019 after being crowned European Formula 3 champion in 2018, following a strong second half of the season.
The 19-year old’s deal would see him participate in two tests for the Scuderia this season.
The Italian team refused to confirm the deal that would see Mick follow in his father's footsteps 23 years after Michael Schumacher, first set out on his Ferrari career.
Schumacher won five of his titles with Ferrari and two with Benetton but following his tragic skiing accident in 2013 he has not been seen in public and very little is known about his condition.

At the Abu Dhabi post-season testing Ferrari revealed they were talking to Mick about the possibility of signing him to their academy but nothing had been heard since.
