Formula One commercial chief Sean Bratches has hinted that the Formula 1 calendar will not expand from its current 21-race schedule, despite the additions of the Vietnamese and Dutch Grands Prix.
There have been rumours that the Spanish and Mexican Grands Prix will drop off the calendar, whilst the race at Silverstone does not have a contract beyond this year.
"We are optimistic about the prospect of a 21-race calendar again next year," Bratches said. "I don’t think we are going to have more than that.”
Understandably, Silverstone are keen to extend their contract. Bratches added: “We will see. We are having productive discussions with multiple parties.
“Silverstone has been a central and seminal part of the race calendar since 1950. Those discussions are ongoing.”
