SportPesa Racing Point's Andy Green has confirmed that teams have been invited to look into the strength of chassis in Formula 1. This comes in response to the tragic incident which killed Anthoine Hubert in F2.
Hubert was involved in an incident at the feature race in Formula 2 during Saturday at the Belgian Grand Prix and sadly passed away as a result of the accident. The other driver involved in the crash, Juan Manuel Correa, suffered two broken legs and spinal damage and faces a long road of rehabilitation after undergoing a 17-hour operation.
Speaking to Auto Hebdo, Racing Point's Andy Green said teams have been invited to look at the strength of F1 chassis but admit there's a limit given the amount of energy involved in the Spa crash.
"We have been invited to analyse the regulations regarding the strength of the chassis," the technical boss said.
"The subject will be discussed at the next meeting of the technical working group.
