A new museum has opened in German which features Michael Schumacher memorabilia including championship winning cars. It helped the former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo to look back on his time with the seven-time World Champion.
“It is very emotional because Michael is a big part of my life. We have won many races together. We started in 1996, in Barcelona - then I thought to myself: ‘we are at the beginning of a special era’. Michael performed fantastically,” the Italian told Autosport.
Montezemolo went onto talk about Schumacher’s dedication to the sport and Ferrari themselves. He believes this is part of why the German was so successful.
“His ability to work with the team was great, he went to the factory with the energy and curiosity of a young driver every time. We won together, and if we lost, it would also happen together,” Montezemolo.
The museum is open to the public free of charge.
