Zandvoort is unique and has a long history. In a week's time, it will be raced on again by Formula 1 and of course by Max Verstappen, who achieved his last pole position there in 2023. With just under a week to go, here's a fresh look at the track as viewed from the Dutchman's cockpit.
Nowadays, Circuit Zandvoort is characterized by two 'bankings' and little room for errors. One misstep and you're in the gravel pit or in the wall, but the last parabolic turn also allows for an overtaking move towards turn 1, the Tarzan turn.
So how was it again? And what does the circuit look like? What better way to relive this than with Max Verstappen's pole position in 2022! A year later, he also conquered the first place, but Lando Norris broke the Dutchman's hegemony at his home race last year by snatching pole.
