Leonardo Fornaroli has managed to win a race for the first time in more than four years. Sebastián Montoya finished in second place, while Roman Stanek rounded off the podium.
The last time the Invicta Racing driver last won a race was in the Italian F4 championship back in 2021 at the Misano Circuit. This was only his second victory in single-seater cars.
In terms of the championship, Richard Verschoor could extend his lead in the standings ahead of his rival Alex Dunne by only a single point, as he crossed the finish line in P8.
Thanks to his victory however, Fornaroli is now up into second place in the standings, 19 points behind the MP Motorsport Dutchman. With finishing in P6 and earning three points, Jak Crawford is also now a point ahead of Dunne in the standings.
As it happened
Once again a car stalled as the formation lap got underway. This time, it happened to Dino Beganovic, who drove for Ferrari during FP1 during the Austrian GP.
Off the line, Kush Maini took the lead starting from P2 on the grid, overtaking last year's F3 champion, Fornaroli, however, after some hard-fought corners, the Italian could retake the lead.
Championship leader Richard Verschoor also had a difficult start, losing six positions by the end of Lap 2.
On Lap 7, British drivers locked horns, as Luke Browning got up to P8 overtaking
Arvid Lindblad, and the Red Bull talent couldn't reclaim the position on the Wellington Straight.
On Lap 8, McLaren junior Alex Dunne made contact with Gabriel Mini in Turn 4, as he left little room for the Italian. This also led to the Irishman having a puncture, and him scoring no points this Saturday. The incident was also investigated by the stewards, as they handed a 10-second time penalty to the Prema Racing driver. Later on, the Irishman retired his car in the pit lane.
On Lap 15, into Stowe, the son of Juan Pablo, Sebastián Montoya got up to second place, after overtaking Maini. A lap later, Roman Stanek also tried to overtake the Indian in the same corner, but the Czech driver could not make the move stick.
After many attempts by Stanek, on the penultimate lap, he could get up to P3 overtaking Maini around the outside of Stowe, however, he was asked to hand to position back to the Indian, but he did not do that.
On the final lap, Browning and Victor Martins made contact, leading to the Verschoor scoring a single point. Red Bull supertalent Lindblad finished in P10.
