Driver standings | Verstappen makes perfect start in Bahrain GP

Max Verstappen has kicked off the 2023 Formula 1 season in perfect fashion. As a result, the reigning world champion leads the championship after the first race of the year.

Sergio Perez can also be satisfied with the current state of play. He is closing in on second place behind his teammate, with whom he shared the podium after the Bahrain Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso is also doing good business at this early stage of the championship.

His teammate Lance Stroll did not disappoint either. He crossed the finish line in eighth place and therefore currently holds that spot in the standings. Alexander Albon and Pierre Gasly fought their way to the front and managed to finish in the top ten, while Charles Leclerc remained scoreless after his Ferrari's power unit failed.
