Max Verstappen may have pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix, but he is not completely satisfied yet. The Dutchman is dependent on his competitors - and that is no surprise to him.
After securing pole at Suzuka circuit, Verstappen shouted out in joy over the team radio. He can compete with McLaren, but not just because of his own strong lap and Red Bull's performance.

Verstappen: 'Others make more mistakes'

In fact, the Dutchman relies on the competitors as well. "I am also dependent on what the others do," says Verstappen after to De Telegraaf after qualifying.
"But yes, they do indeed make more mistakes than I do. I am not surprised about that. If I can stay close enough, I know I can always make the difference."

He also keeps Red Bull on alert. "We are not close enough yet, although today it turned out that way," says Verstappen.
