It was a day to forget for Arvid Lindblad during the Formula 2 feature race at the Italian Grand Prix, crashing twice to see the British talent retire from the race.
The 18-year-old has been heavily tipped to make the move to Formula 1 for the 2026 season after being handed his super license.
It has been a fine start for Lindblad in his debut season in F2, with a sprint race win at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and a feature race win at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Arvid Lindblad currently sits P7 in the drivers' standings with 101 points, with his DNF in the Italian Grand Prix feature race meaning he is 73 points behind leader Leonardo Fornaroli

Double crash disaster for Lindblad at Monza

However, after starting P6 for the feature race at Monza, it was a hugely disappointing showing from Lindblad.
The issues started for the 18-year-old when he took out McLaren junior driver Alex Dunne, in an incident that brought out the safety car.
Damage was done to the Brit's car, but Campos Racing decided not to bring the car in, resulting in there being no front wing on Lindblad's car.
With that being the case, Lindblad's second crash of the day came just a lap after the restart as he hit Roman Stanek down into the chicane at turn 1, which forced the Brit to retire the car due to too much damage.

Both incidents were judged by the stewards to be Lindblad's fault, resulting in two ten-second time penalties and four penalty points to be added to his record.
As a result of his early retirement from the race, those ten-second time penalties have been converted into five-place grid penalties, meaning a ten-place grid penalty will be enforced for the 18-year-old at the next race, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
