Daniel Ricciardo finished 8th at the Mexican Grand Prix and is happy with how his team performed after a poor qualifying session on the Saturday. However, Renault are still not performing how Ricciardo would have hoped and he is looking forward to the team improving before next season.
"I'm happy with how the team kept up the morale," Ricciardo said to Motorsportweek.
"So many times this year, circumstances have tried to knock us out, and you can see that sometimes it touches us, and it touches me sometimes, as you have seen [in qualifying in Mexico City].
"But we managed to regroup quickly and I'm pretty proud of the team for that. Cyril [Abiteboul] has suffered a lot since Japan, and at Renault, the company itself, there have been a lot of changes, but it remained very strong this weekend.
"We will try to stay the course with our backs to the wall, but that brought out the character in us."

Renault will hope they can find some pace before the start of next season and that they can do enough to keep hold of Ricciardo for years to come.
