David Coulthard has weighed in on the Ferrari number one debate and believes the two drivers are facing a different set of pressures which could be affecting their respective performances.
Charles Leclerc has impressed at times since joining the Scuderia, especially after his performance in Bahrain where he was unfortunate not to win the race. Sebastian Vettel meanwhile stands above his teammate in the standings but has been lucky with several contentious team-orders this season.
Leclerc seems to have what it takes to have a hugely successful career in F1 but Coulthard believes the pairs differing circumstances could be what is bringing the mixed results and opinions at this moment in time.
"Charles does what he has to do," he told Auto Bild
"He wants to be faster. If he sees a gap, he gets in.

"Sebastian has another goal: to make the Ferrari a winning car.
“So here we are dealing with two different types of pressure.
"Seb has to win, anything else isn't good enough. Charles has it easier. He just has to be faster than Sebastian and prove that he can beat a four-time world champion and has a great future.”
