Despite the fact that Red Bull Racing managed to get a double podium with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, Mercedes is closing in on the championship standings. The German team has increased their lead to 36 points.

Red Bull must pull out all the stops

This is mainly due to the strong performance of Valtteri Bottas. The Finn scored his first win of 2021, and in addition to the 25 points he gets for it, he also scores an extra point for the fastest lap. Lewis Hamilton crossed the line in fifth place, scoring 10 points. Verstappen and Perez finished second and third, which is good for 33 points in the constructors' race.
The battle for third place is very exciting. McLaren and Ferrari are very close to each other. Currently McLaren has a lead of 7.5 points, but Ferrari has crept closer after Turkey. The battle for P5 also remains exciting. Alpine has a lead of 12 points on AlphaTauri.
