Jenson Button disagrees with Esteban Ocon's claim that, after Lewis Hamilton, he is the driver who has put up the biggest fight with Fernando Alonso in Formula 1.
In 2021, Ocon finished behind his teammate, but at this point in the championship, he is seven points ahead of Alonso. The latter, however, has had considerably more technical issues during the current F1 season. Nevertheless, Ocon caused a stir by stating that, after Hamilton, he is the two-time world champion's best-performing teammate.

Button disagrees with Ocon

Button disagrees with Ocon's statements, he revealed on Twitter. By this, he seems to be referring to his own performance as Alonso's teammate: in 2015, Button finished ahead of his teammate, albeit with a lead of just five points. It was a disastrous year for McLaren, which finished second-to-last in the championship with a total of just 27 points. In 2016, Button lost out while Alonso scored more than double the amount of points of his teammate.
