Bottas set to sign Mercedes extension this week!

Valtteri Bottas is set to sign a one year contract extension to stay at Mercedes for 2020 according to Finnish newspaper Tunun Sanomat.

There has been much debate surrounding the future of Bottas at Mercedes, with reserve driver Esteban Ocon also in the running to take the second seat at the Silver Arrows.

Bottas has proven himself to be a worthy number two to Hamilton, whilst being a driver who can win races on his day.

The Finn started the season in excellent form, leading the championship after four races, but he has failed to take a victory since, dropping away from Hamilton in the championship.

But he seems to have done enough to keep his seat at Mercedes, and is expected to sign his new one year deal before next weekend's Belgian Grand Prix.
