Binotto won't get endless time from Ferrari: 'Sixth place was very bad'

For Ferrari, 2020 was a year to quickly forget. A sixth place in the Constructors' Championship was unheard of, and so team boss Mattia Binotto is already under pressure.
Ferrari has been in Formula 1 since its inception and, with the (financial) resources available, is always a team that should be competing for the world title. The fact that in 2020 it finished sixth in the standings and failed to register a single victory is therefore dramatic. Mattia Binotto, however, is trying to make the best of it.

Binotto under pressure

''We have to accept the sixth place in the world championship. It is clear that we will not become better by wearing the name Ferrari. We just have to become more competitive with time, and make sure everyone works harder and harder," the Italian team boss told Speedweek.com.
However, Binotto also realises only too well that he cannot stay in the lead forever. ''I know my time is not endless. I know I have to perform in the next few years. Sixth place was very bad, but we have invested a lot in the future and are trying to create a solid base to be successful again. We have to start winning again,'' concludes the Italian.
