Ralf Schumacher has little confidence in Ferrari’s project for the upcoming season.
“As for Ferrari, disaster already seems to be looming again, at least reading between the lines”
- Ralf Schumacher
Speaking on Sky Deutschland’s Backstage Boxengasse podcast, the former German driver raised serious concerns over Ferrari’s SF-26 project, which is set to be unveiled on January 23, going as far as to use the word “disaster.”
“As for Ferrari, disaster already seems to be looming again, at least reading between the lines, he said. “That’s what stands out the most once more. They appear to be developing two different cars. I can almost imagine that this is because Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton have completely different views on the car.
He finally added: “If that’s the case, it’s a disaster from the outset — I’ve always said you can’t develop two cars. And Fred Vasseur has hinted at it himself as well. So it all seems far from ideal.”

Schumacher warns of drastic Ferrari changes if F1 title challenge won't happen

Ferrari are preparing to head into a nineteenth consecutive season without a world title, after another frustrating campaign in which the Maranello outfit failed to claim a single Grand Prix victory.
Charles Leclerc still managed to secure seven podium finishes, while Lewis Hamilton endured an underwhelming first season with the Scuderia, with his Sprint race win in China standing out as one of the few bright spots.
Looking ahead, Schumacher has also cautioned that changes could be on the horizon should Ferrari fall short of expectations, adding that team principal Fredéric Vasseur is fully aware of what such a scenario could entail.
