April fools: Formula 1 will not introduce FANBOOST for Australian GP

On Saturday morning, GPblog revealed that Formula 1 will introduce FANBOOST during the Australian Grand Prix. The system was set to make its debut in the sport...until the calendars were checked by the fans.

The fact that Formula 1 have been improving fan engagement is true. But FANBOOST will not form part of Formula 1 weekends as this was GPblog's April Fools Day article for 2023. Whilst it might be fun to get the fans involved more, F1 will avoid this artificial route of entertainment.

The Australian Grand Prix weekend will continue as planned with Sunday's Australian Grand Prix. You will be able to follow all of the important news from the rest of the weekend in Melbourne on GPblog, as well as a liveblog for the race.
