Fernando Alonso will not take part in the post-Spanish Grand Prix testing session. This is mainly down to the Spaniards hectic 2018 schedule.
The 36-year-old begins his WEC campaign this weekend in Spa and has already set the fastest lap in free practice 1.
Stoffel Vandoorne will drive for McLaren alongside Lando Norris and Oliver Turvey.
“We discussed the test calendar in February, and they asked me if I wanted to do the one after the Spanish Grand Prix,” Alonso told AS newspaper.
“I said no, and that means more rest, yes, but even if I wasn’t doing the WEC, I probably would be at home anyway.”
