Alonso not missing Formula 1

Two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso says he is "not really" missing Formula 1 after retiring at the end of the 2018 season.

The Spaniard has made clear his intent to achieve motorsport's Triple Crown of a Monaco Grand Prix victory or F1 world title, Indy 500 victory and Le Mans 24 Hours win.

Having accomplished two out of three achievements, Alonso is set to compete in the Indy 500 once again in the hopes of becoming just the second man after Graham Hill to achieve the feat.

Speaking to Spanish media about Formula 1 however and Alonso denied he retired because of having an uncompetitive car and no big teams taking him on.

“I would return if I wanted to,” he explained.
