Alfa Romeo president Jean-Philippe Imparato has indicated that the Italian brand wants to stay in Formula 1. Speaking to L'Argus the businessman confirmed that Alfa Romeo is exploring all options to remain active in motorsport.
With the unveiling of the C43, Alfa Romeo's last Formula 1 car has been shown for the time being. The Italian brand will leave at the end of the 2023 season as a partner of Sauber, which will continue with Audi. For Alfa Romeo, that seems to mean a departure from Formula 1, but its president would not confirm that yet.

'We are not ruling anything out'

Imparato stresses that it is still early, but that the brand is looking at different options. " At the end of June we will decide on the future of the brand in motorsport," Imparato explained. "We are not ruling anything out. What is certain is that we want to stay in motorsport, either in Formula 1 or in the other series. Especially as we are celebrating Quadrifoglio's 100th anniversary this year."
By this, Imparato is referring to the four-leaf clover (Quadrifoglio in Italian) that adorned Alfa Romeo race cars in the 1920s. The first race with that emblem was won in 1923, after which a four-leaf clover was seen on almost every race car of the Italian marque. The 2023 design also features the green leaf.
