Alex Albon is looking forward to the winter testing sessions as it will give him the opportunity to set the Red Bull Racing car up how he would like it. Having taken over from Pierre Gasly halfway through the season, Albon wasn't driving a car he was comfortable in.
"In a Grand Prix weekend, you can't change a lot. You can't take the risk of just going in a completely different direction," Albon said to Motorsport.com. "But I think the team now knows what I need in the car."
Albon drove for Red Bull nine times in 2019 and looked faster each time he stepped into the car. The British-Thai driver wants more time in the car to learn and adapt.
"We need to focus on that (right from the starting blocks on Friday morning, ed.), Because during testing you have to deal with changing circumstances. For example, there are always several hours between the first and second free practice, although there are systems so that we can somewhat compare it.
"There is of course time to learn and experiment, but it really is not much time. Before you know it we are already in Australia. It is better than nothing, but limited."

It is not long before the Formula 1 season kicks off again and Albon will spend as much time as possible in the car gaining confidence for the season ahead.
