From nowhere to
Red Bull within months. That's what
Alex Albon has done in the world of
Formula 1. The British-Thai driver is making his debut this weekend for Red Bull at the Belgium Grand Prix and the young Formula 1 driver is prepared, but says he "could have been more ready for it."
In the Talking Bull podcast from
Red Bull Racing, Albon says:
“You may think that switching to a different team and a different car is fairly easy. Max Verstappen made it look easy in 2016. Well, it certainly isn't."
“Of course I am still learning. I do notice that I am really rising in terms of speed. I feel that I'm really a lot better than at the start of the season. I know there is much to learn for me. Perhaps not so much in terms of driving, considering that it is the most natural part. Especially dealing with the team. "
“It is important that I improve my feedback and understand the car and any problems so that I immediately know who to address this to, for example. I feel that there is still room for improvement there."
“I am now in a car that you can use to win races, so there is still room for improvement for myself. That feels a little daunting. It is not that I am not ready for it, but I could be more ready for it," the brand new RBR driver says.
