Charles Leclerc may have suffered some disappointing results this season, but Alexander Albon has given an insight into how Leclerc gets his searing pace, which has seen him impress in the early stages of the season.
Albon and Leclerc have been rivals in the European F3 Championship, the GP3 series and F2 and are now contesting Formula 1, albeit at different ends of the grid. Leclerc is now challenging at the front at Ferrari whilst Albon is further back in the Toro Rosso, but he has impressed.
Speaking to Motorsport-Total Albon hinted at the secret to Leclerc’s speed saying:"I've known him since karting.
"Charles feels the grip very fast, even when it rains.
"He has no weakness in slow, medium and fast corners.

"If you're faster than him, it'll be by two or three hundredths at the most, you will not get more.”
Despite the Monegasques rapid rise in popularity since his move to Ferrari, Albon admitted he’s still the same guy.
"If you hit him up in the paddock, he's still the same guy: modest, very ambitious and very talented,” he added.
