IndyCar driver Alex Palou was actually supposed to be present at the Singapore Grand Prix on behalf of McLaren's team, but the Spaniard has not yet appeared at the Marina Bay Circuit in the city-state. The matter will soon be settled in a legal manner, as both parties [McLaren and Palou] face each other in court in London.
"There should be no any issues," jokes McLaren CEO Zak Brown about Palou being absent. "I'll drive. I've got my helmet. I don't have a super license. I don't think," the 51-year-old American continued. " We only need a reserve driver if we need a reserve driver," Brown said.

Palou and Chip Ganassi Racing

McLaren's American boss previously said he would not be surprised the moment Palou did not attend Singapore. After the last race of the IndyCar season, Chip Ganassi Racing announced that the Spaniard will continue to drive for the constructor in 2024. This soap opera does not seem to know its end, and more will have to become clear in court.
"And the legal case, I can't really comment on," the McLaren Racing boss continued. "There is a legal case, and that's in London. We'll see that through. And then, in due course, what happened will all play out," he concludes.
