Yuki Tsunoda says he had a good talk with Red Bull Racing about the incident in Q3 of qualifying in Mexico. The driver was criticised by Christian Horner after the qualifying session.

After Tsunoda had given his teammate Pierre Gasly slipstream, the driver tried to pull over for Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen, who were on their fast lap. Unfortunately, this resulted in the Mexican going off the track as well, causing Verstappen to receive a yellow flag and having to slow down.

AlphaTauri believes he could not have done more with the information available. "We spoke lots of times about the Q3. The engineers agree that I couldn't do anything more than really that in that situation. But also at the same time, we can clearly see that there's room that we have to learn about radio conversation", Tsunoda tells Autosport.com.

'Good conversation with Red Bull'

Tsunoda continues: "I think we have more information before that or if I'm asking for more information, I think we couldn't have that situation as well. It was just a really unfortunate situation."

"Also I spoke with Red Bull as well the day after and we had a good chat and I also heard that from their perspective about their Q3. So it was just unfortunate and we just have to learn from it and try not to do the same thing next time.” The race weekend in Mexico was one to forget for Tsunoda, as he also crashed out during the race after a collision in turn one.
