During the second free practice in Mexico Charles Leclerc seemed to have problems with the engine. According to the Monegasque it's not that bad.

During FP2 Leclerc explained over the radio that he was struggling 'with the engine problems'. It looked as though the Monegasque might be next in line to have a new engine this weekend.

But according to Leclerc it's all not too bad. "We had some things going on in the background, which made it not a pleasant car to drive. But it was nothing major. We have everything under control, so there are no big problems. It just makes it trickier to drive in these conditions," the Ferrari driver told Motorsport.com.

Struggling in thin air

According to the driver, the problems Leclerc had in the second free practice session were nothing more than 'a lack of torque sometimes in the corners' and 'a lack of acceleration, but nothing too big'.

Teammate Carlos Sainz felt that more teams were struggling with the conditions at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, 'due to the thin air'. The circuit is quite high up, so engine power will have less influence this weekend and the emphasis will be on the cars' downforce.
