Norris visits all the McLaren team members: 'This is one big family'

At McLaren, the growth that the team is going through is increasingly visible. Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo lead the team and are in the spotlight a lot, but together they ensure that there is a lot of attention for the staff.

Formula 1 is generally about the drivers. They are the men around whom the whole show revolves and therefore they are often the ones in the spotlight. However, an F1 team consists of hundreds of people, who all contribute to the success of a team. Norris realises this all too well.

Team spirit at McLaren

''I've seen the changes in the team and I live very close. I live about three minutes away from the factory, so I'm always there. The other day I was here every day for a whole week so I could see everyone for a while. I'll be at the diner or at the golf club. I also like to go to different departments. Not because I have to be there, but just randomly. I do it because then I can see everyone and just say 'hello,'" Norris tells Motorsport.com.

''That makes them feel more part of the team, and not just working for someone. I want them to feel part of it and so does Daniel. We are one big group, one big family. They are there for us and we are there for them. We want to be successful together," concludes the young Briton.
