Former Formula 1 driver and race winner Carlos Reutemann has been readmitted to intensive care. The Argentine had already spent seventeen days in hospital but was discharged on 21 May. At the end of May, however, the situation worsened and since June 21 he is back in intensive care.

That reports Motorsport.com. Reutemann has gastrointestinal bleeding and kidney problems, leaving him in a serious condition in intensive care in Argentina. The assumption is that the health problems Reutemann is now facing are related to the diagnosis from 2017, where the Argentine was diagnosed with liver cancer at the time.

Rich history in F1

The former F1 driver raced 146 races in Formula 1 between 1972 and 1982, winning 12 races and standing on the podium 48 times. In 1981 he finished second in the final championship, behind Nelson Piquet. In the end, he was one point short of becoming champion. In 1975, 1978 and 1980 he was also on the final podium, in third place.
