Red Bull presents the 'Aston Martin Valkyrie on steroids'

Aston Martin and Red Bull presented the AMR Pro on Monday. A further development of the Aston Martin Valkyrie for the track, but without being restricted by any regulations. A race car that is not intended for competition, but is made for ultimate power and performance.

Aston Martin Valkyrie on steroids

The AMR Pro was initially developed to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. "There were several points of consideration, such as repositioning the engine and gearbox, as well as lengthening the wheelbase and optimising aerodynamics," designer Adrian Newey told a Red Bull press release.

However, the project went on hold. "But the mechanical design of the car lives on as the AMR Pro. The AMR Pro, which has been significantly modified from the road version, is essentially an Aston Martin Valkyrie on steroids. Its performance is of a very high standard, much higher than that of any other track-only car to date and even much higher than that of a top-of-the-range LMP car today. It will be hugely exciting to see the car run on the track and show its true potential."

Technical capabilities without rules

"The Aston Martin Valkyrie is a sight to behold and from start to finish it was incredible to watch Adrian and the Red Bull Advanced Technologies Team push the boundaries with Aston Martin and bring Formula One standards of engineering excellence to the automotive industry," continued Red Bull team boss Christian Horner.

Although participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans is still out of the question, Horner can't wait to see the AMR Pro on the track. "In the AMR Pro we will see a further evolution of the work done on the Aston Martin Valkyrie for the first Le Mans 24 Hours entry, and what is technically possible when you don't follow any rules."
