The Italian, who leads Audi’s F1 project, expressed overall satisfaction with the team’s progress, emphasising the importance of the three days of testing for the German outfit.
“I think it's great. We are all very, very happy. It's a fantastic project, as we all believe. It's a project we are all committed to, but we also know that there is still a lot for us to build, a lot to grow. But again, those three days—or five days—three days of running have been very, very important. I think we are doing well, somehow, for where we are in our journey,” Binotto explained to F1.com.
Weighing in on the reliability issues his team faced, Binotto opted for a much more measured approach, describing them as small and not dramatic.

“Reliability is always very critical, but we had several problems, small ones, nothing dramatic. I think, again, there is a lot of positive momentum moving forward,” he concluded.
The Audi team saw much of its three days of running halted by issues with its power unit, with both Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg encountering problems at different points during their sessions. However, both drivers were able to record considerable mileage on the final day of testing in Barcelona.

Binotto points out key Audi advantage over Red Bull

The 56-year-old, in his assessment, pointed out how the key personalities within the team offer a crucial advantage over the Austrian outfit.
