Ricciardo tells McLaren fans: It will not be a comedy show

With Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo, McLaren has a strong driver duo not only on the track for 2021 but especially off the track. Ricciardo, however, wants fans to know that it will not be a comedy show.

Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz have been an excellent duo over the last two seasons. On the track, the two drivers got the most out of the car and off-track they seemed to have the most fun. With the arrival of Ricciardo, who is known for his enormous laughter, McLaren doesn't seem to be going backwards.

Ricciardo is not coming for the fun

Talking to Sky Sports, however, Ricciardo wants to make something clear to the fans. ''I want to make something clear, especially to the fans of McLaren. It will not be a comedy show. I am here for my job and I will do everything I can to improve the car,'' said Ricciardo, who clearly took the lead at Renault.

Ricciardo doesn't want to say he will get super serious about success, but he does take F1 seriously. ''My personality will not change all of a sudden because I enjoy what I do. However, I am not going to McLaren to become a 'meme power duo' or however that is described in this day and age,'' the Australian concludes.
