With the departure of Claire Williams and the Williams team being taken over by Dorilton Capital, we have had to say goodbye to the only female team principal on the grid. Despite this, Williams is not worried about a lack of women in Formula 1, instead stating that the women already there are not getting the attention they deserve.

In an interview with the New York Times, Williams explained how she feels the current women in the sport need need more exposure. "I think there are a lot of female role models in Formula 1 ; there always have been," Williams begins. They just probably need more exposure. We just don't see them enough because the picture is dominated by men.

“But I don't think that Formula 1 and the diversity piece around female empowerment will suddenly take a nosedive because of the fact I'm not there," Williams went on to say. “I think there are great women in Formula 1 doing great things.”
