Leclerc wants to win again with Ferrari: 'In the end, that's my job'

It was a year for Ferrari to forget. In 2019, Ferrari was still competing for victory in several races, but in 2020 it did not get any further than P6 among the manufacturers. In 2021 it has to be a lot better.

Charles Leclerc had a brilliant debut at Ferrari in 2019, with two victories and seven poles. However, the car turned out not to be completely legal, and that threw Ferrari way back at the start of the season in 2020. Ferrari has not yet been able to recover that step backwards, but Leclerc does not want to speak of a wasted year.

''No, I wouldn't call it a wasted year. Of course it was a tough year and we did not expect this, but I am satisfied with the way we dealt with it afterwards. You shouldn't want to forget a season like that, because a year like that you grow as a driver and also as a team,'' says Leclerc to Sky Sports Italia.

In 2021 it all has to be better, but is that feasible? '

'In the end it is my job to get the most out of it. We have to be realistic and optimistic. I want to win with Ferrari as soon as possible, but I understand that that will be difficult. However, I am convinced that we can do it and I think that every time I get in the car,'' concludes the Monegasque.
