Albon: "I don't think the Mercedes improved either on the softs"

Alexander Albon eventually set the fourth fastest time during the second free practice, two tenths behind Max Verstappen. Mercedes and Verstappen set their fastest time on the medium tyre, Albon on the soft tyre.

Search for the sweet spot

Albon set his fastest time on the soft tyre. "Just trying to get the softs to work a bit better than they were. It's like always you've got to figure out the sweet spot. The mediums were okay. I don't think the Mercedes improved either on the softs. If it's a tyre thing we will see and try again tomorrow," Albon told Sky Sports. 

In any case, Albon had a bit of trouble with the tyres today. "The mediums were ok." On the soft it was difficult. "You to go through turn one (on softs) and expect a lot of grip and it's not there. We need to work out the outlaps and the gaps."
