Schumacher the big shadow of his father Michael Schumacher to get out of, but in the junior categories, Mick has shown that he can race and that he deserves his cahnce. With a Formula 3 title and probably also the F2 title in his pocket, the German has proven himself on his way to Formula 1.
''After the weekend in Sochi we heard that things were going well, but not everything was clear yet. In the end, I knew much sooner than you, but it is great that I am going to Formula 1. It's a dream come true." says Schumacher according to Formel1.de. The German will race in F1 with the number #47, because his favourite numbers 4 and 7 are already occupied by Lando Norris and Kimi Raikkonen.
No high expectations for Mick
''I have been under a lot of pressure over the last few years and so far I have dealt with it well. Hopefully that will be no different in Formula 1," says the new Haas driver, who also points to Sabine Kehm, who has helped him from day one in his adventure towards Formula 1.
''We have to temper the expectations a bit, because we won't race for victories in my first year. My goal is to get the best out of myself and that we can get better as a team with Haas. With Nikita we have to steer the team in the right direction and what happens on the track, we'll see,'' Schumacher concludes.
