The Racing Point team has plans to focus more on the setup for the qualifying sessions. They hope to find more speed on Saturday, said Technical Director Andrew Green.

Racing Point has made choices in the setup this season that have limited the pace over one lap, with the aim of protecting the tyres during the race.

Development halted

The team is currently fighting for third place in the championship, together with Renault and McLaren. The difference between the teams is only one World Championship point at the moment. However, the team indicates that they have stopped developing the RP20, and the focus is now entirely on the 2021 car.

"We've been looking forward to next year for a while now," says Green in conversation with Motorsport.com. "Next year will require significant adjustments to the car's aerodynamics, so we've been working on that for a while."

"We don't have as many updates planned for the last few races as we'd like. I think there's more in the car, so we're going to see where we can make adjustments. Maybe more focused on qualifying than the race," says the technical director.
